Jeffrey Tover

Jeffrey Tover is an award-winning Northern California abstract painter. He has been painting
consistently over the last decade after a long sabbatical from making art. His artistic studies have
included instruction at the San Francisco Art Institute under Glenn Hirsch and various workshops with
established artists.
Jeffrey’s fondness for abstract art has been from the love of color, form, and line, primarily inspired
from the works of the Abstract Expressionist artists during the Post-World War II art movement of the
1940s and 1950s. Influences include the works of Robert Motherwell, Joan Mitchell, Willem DeKooning
and Cy Twombly. Utilizing a wide variety of tools and materials to create his compositions, the artist’s
creations are meant to create a deeper connection with the viewer and to develop a dialogue of mutual
understanding through art.
Jeffrey’s work has been purchased by private and commercial collectors throughout the USA and abroad
including Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He currently lives and maintains a studio in Benicia, CA.
“You have to be emotionally present to understand abstract art. Its beauty is beyond definition. Its
seduction connects to your soul.” Jeffrey Tover 2022
